About Us

Serve the District partners with Waterfront Church DC to equip mission teams with all the information they may need to plan a successful trip to our nation's capital. Our goal is for each mission trip to challenge it's participants and strengthen our city.

By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.

A Word From Zack

A Word From Zack

There are only a handful of cities throughout the world that have a level of influence comparable to Washington, D.C.  Quite literally, what happens here changes the world. By reading through this website, I am assuming you feel the same way we do: for revival to spread throughout our country, it will have to have roots in our nation’s capital.

Beneath the monuments and the towering buildings that house our nation’s legislators, there is a city desperately in need.  First and foremost, they are in need of the Gospel message,  because without it—they have no hope.  In the city, there also resides the largest rate of homelessness in our country.  These people are in need of physical help to get out of their situations, and in many cases, they are in need of food to get through the day or a warm blanket to get through the winter nights.  You have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to the people of our city, and through reaching these people, you will send a shock wave through the city that will be heard across all boundaries of race, income, and culture.  This is the same strategy that Jesus and the disciples took 2000 years ago.

In John 13:35 Jesus says, "By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

By loving these people, Christ will be visible; lives will be changed; and this influential city will be filled with stories of God’s redeeming love.  The information provided is by no means exhaustive, but is meant to springboard you as you begin the planning process.  Please, partner with us as we love our neighbors, and through this, they will know Him!  We are so grateful for your help with Waterfront Church.

Grace & Peace,
Zack Randles
